Stephen’s practice focuses on Family Law, Real Estate transactions, and Wills & Estates.
Background and Education
Stephen was born and raised in Kenora. He received a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English, from the University of Manitoba in 1983 and a Bachelor of Laws, also from the University of Manitoba, in 1988. He articled with Hook & Seller after law school and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990. Stephen became a partner in 1995 has practised exclusively with our firm.
Stephen is married to Marie who is an elementary school teacher in Kenora. They are the parents of two children, a daughter and a son. Their family enjoys outdoor activities and Stephen and his children have competed in bass fishing tournaments together for many years. Stephen enjoys curling and golf, and takes advantage of our good fortune of living on the beautiful Lake of the Woods by spending time fishing and boating.
Stephen is Past Chair of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation. He is on the organizing committee for the Foundation’s annual charity golf tournament. He is a past Finance Committee member of the Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation.
